Tools, List Posts, Videos, and More – Best of the Web!

Posted on May 12, 2012 | In Best of the Web

Another month, and another Best of the Web round-up!

The last month has been really intense – between all the content that we’ve run on the blog (which is a lot), the webinars that I’ve been doing for our wonderful partners (over a dozen of them), and the interviews that I’ve been asked to participate in, it’s been crazy.

And on top of that, there’s my super-secret new project that I’ll be releasing to you (for free!) at the end of the month! ;-)

So yeah, it’s been busy, and it’s been hard to keep up with the rest of the blogosphere.

But just because I’m busy doesn’t mean that the blogosphere has shut down – not by a long shot!

So here are some of my favorite posts, articles and exciting other pieces of content from the last few weeks…

It seems like just yesterday we were putting together a Best of the Web feature for February, but another month has gone by already.

And what a month!

The Marketing that Works training program has a new, and very promising, crop of students. Write Like Freddy is incredibly popular, showing hundreds of people how to improve their writing…

…and at the same time, all of these great blog posts appeared on the internet!

So keep reading, because we’ve got a boatload of great stuff for you to check out today, including lists, tips, how-tos, insights, inspiration, some counter-intuitive ideas, and a whole lot more…

Profitability, Productivity, Infographics – Best of the Web!

Posted on March 4, 2012 | In Best of the Web

It’s time for our bi-weekly Best of the Web feature.

Except that it looks like our bi-weekly Best of the Web feature is becoming a sometimes-bi-weekly and sometimes-monthly feature. I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got a packed editorial calendar and a community of people who are super-eager to contribute!

(As I write this, we’ve got a backlog of five guest posts to schedule sometime in May!)

Yup, things are hopping over here – we’re breaking traffic records, we’re thrilled by the engagement and interactions with so many of our readers over email and other social media, and we’re particularly excited to welcome a whole new group of super-motivated students into our Marketing That Works training program!

Now, just because we’ve been busy doesn’t mean that the rest of the internet shuts down (even though sometimes it might feel like it!).

February was a spectacular month for content, and here are some of our favorites…

It’s February Already? Best of the Web!

Posted on February 4, 2012 | In Best of the Web

Was January as good for you as it was for us?

On our end, we’ve had a month of record-breaking traffic, thanks to the amazing contestants in our “Marketing That Works” Ideas Contest, who totally rocked!

I also quietly launched a new training program about writing (you’ll be hearing more about that in March), and I’ve been working hard to create a ton of videos for you, that we’ll start sharing as soon as next week!

Not to mention that our training program is opening up to new students again soon, and we’ve got some great excitement planned around that, too.

But we aren’t the only ones who’ve been busy. The blogosphere is buzzing, and here are some of our favorite posts from the last month:

Happy 2012! Best of the Web!

Posted on January 7, 2012 | In Best of the Web

I can’t believe our last best of the web post was really last year!

Well, okay, I can. ;-)

It’s really only been a few weeks, but those weeks have been busy in the blogosphere. Between taking a break and celebrating with our nearest and dearest, the beginning of the New Year is a time to reflect on what has gone by and what is to come; that’s precisely what we’ve been doing at Firepole Marketing, and plenty of other blogs have had the same idea.

There have been years in review, round-up posts, reflections on the year that passed, and inspiration for the year to come. Despite being more or less MIA for the past couple of weeks, I’ve read a lot of them, and I’m going to share the creme de la creme with you.

So without further ado – our first Best of the Web for 2012!

The Enormous Post-Launch Best of the Web

Posted on December 17, 2011 | In Best of the Web

A lot has gone on in the month and a bit since our last Best of the Web post.

Specifically, the launch of Engagement from Scratch! and all of the work associated with it. It would be easy for me to forget that the rest of the internet has been pretty busy, too – but no, I’ve been paying attention, and I’ve got a particularly engaging list of great stuff to share with you today.

So, without further ado, a MONSTER Best of the Web! :-D

Food For Thought

These are some of the best, most interesting posts I’ve read in the last few weeks – although the list is by no means exhaustive – I recommend you check out what you can!

It’s Best of the Web time, but today, we’re going to do it a little bit differently. Sure, I’ll share some great posts and content that I’ve come across while surfing the web during the last couple of weeks, but first I want to share something that I’ve created. Here’s the deal. Earlier this week [...]

Today’s Best of the Web post is going to be a little bit different. Inspired by my friend Stuart Mills, we’re taking up the Seven Links Challenge, and issuing a challenge of our own. Here’s what you’ll find in this post: My own selection of seven posts that I’ve written: the most beautiful post, the [...]

A Long Overdue Best of the Web!

Posted on October 8, 2011 | In Best of the Web

Okay, seriously, it’s been waaaaaaay too long since we’ve done one of these. But we had our launch, and then I got married, and somehow our Best of the Web feature kept getting pushed, until we realized that it’s been two and a half months since we last did this. Well, we have a lot [...]

Make Life Harder For Stalkers, Save $682, and the Best of the Web!

Posted on July 30, 2011 | In Best of the Web

We missed our Best of the Web post two weeks ago, so there’s some great stuff to catch up on. But first, I want to talk about something serious. Through Danny Brown, I recently learned about Jodi’s Voice, an organization that is working to raise awareness about some very serious problems with legislation around stalking [...]

The Value Universe, Infographics, and Getting Things Done – Best of the Web

Posted on July 2, 2011 | In Best of the Web

Wow, what a week! A few days ago, on Tuesday, I published a post about the Bank of Social Capital, and asked a few people to weigh in on the discussion. The result? Hundreds of readers, dozens of tweets, and 142 comments in 72 hours. Crazy! Not to mention that I almost offended Brian Clark (but [...]

Lean Startups, Word of Mouth Marketing, and Email – Best of the Web!

Posted on June 18, 2011 | In Best of the Web

Is it just me (and Montreal), or has it been getting really, really hot lately? Seriously. Everything is in boxes because I’m moving in a few weeks – which means there’s no air conditioner. Some days, it’s getting hard to stay focused! But today is a little bit better, and so while I’m out enjoying [...]
