Does Your Marketing Work? (Marketing Ideas Contest!)

Posted on December 9, 2011 | In Firepole Marketing Updates

Does your marketing work?

Do you have an innovative marketing idea to share with the world?

We’re kicking the new year off with a bang: from January 9to February 3, we’re going to showcase the 20 most innovative and effective marketing ideas (and marketers) that we can find.

The only question is… do you have an idea to put you in the running?

It could be a high-level strategy, an immediately actionable tactic, or a powerful insight into how marketing works on a really deep level… we want you to share your ideas with us, so that we can showcase your marketing brilliance to the world.

And to make it super-interesting, we’ve got some very special prizes for you to win!

Here are the details:

Prizes for the Most Innovative Marketers

Here’s what’s up for grabs for the winner of our contest:

  1. A cash prize of $250
  2. Public recognition of your brilliance, both on our blog, and to our students and subscribers
  3. Incredible personal satisfaction!

Not to mention the cool perks of being a finalist:

  1. A guest post spot on Firepole Marketing (exposure to our audience, backlinks, etc.)
  2. A cool, custom-designed Firepole Marketing contest finalist t-shirt
  3. Public recognition as an expert marketer by Firepole Marketing

Does all this sound great? Are you wondering how to apply?

How can you enter to win?

Entering the contest is easy – here’s exactly what you need to do:

  1. Submit your idea. Send an email to danny (at) firepolemarketing (dot) com with the message subject “INNOVATIVE MARKETING CONTEST SUBMISSION”, and share your idea with us – how it works, and why it’s innovative. We’re only accepting a limited number of finalist ideas, on a first-come, first-considered basis, so if you’ve got a good idea, send it over right away!
  2. Write your guest post. If your idea is as good as you think it is, we’ll invite you to write a guest post to showcase the idea to the world. Don’t worry about this until after you’ve sent in your innovative idea, but when the time comes, all our usual guest posting guidelines will apply.
  3. Promote your post. This isn’t just a theoretical contest – we want to see your marketing skills in action. That means doing whatever you can think of to spread the word about the post – the more traffic, tweets, likes and comments your post received, the better!
  4. Vote for the winner. We aren’t going to choose the winners – you are. Everyone who is subscribed to our free “Get More Cash” video training will be sent a synopsis of the top performing posts, and will be invited to vote for the best marketing idea, and the best marketer.
  5. Celebrate your victory! If you’re the winning marketer with the winning idea, then victory will be yours, along with all of the prizes; the cash, the recognition, the promotion… the works!

Does that sound awesome, or what? Well, the first step is to submit your idea…

Submit your idea… right now!

If you like what you’re reading and you want to participate, then start by submitting your ideas. We’ll be short-listing finalists as the ideas come in, and once we fill all of the finalist slots, we’ll stop accepting new submissions.

All to say that if you want to participate, you should get moving – send your idea to danny (at) firepolemarketing (dot) com with the subject “INNOVATIVE MARKETING CONTEST SUBMISSION”.

Multiple submissions are allowed, and encouraged, though we’ll only pick one finalist idea per person.

Any questions?

Hi Danny, This is an awesome idea and will undoubtedly inspire our marketing efforts in 2012. My idea and post should be nestled in your inbox by now. I can’t wait to hear if I’ve made the grade!

Hey Belinda, I just read through it, and I think it’s a valuable addition to the contest that will help readers to make more money (and keep more of their customers!) – nice work! :)

Danny,

I’m feeling kind of paranoid right now, but did you receive my idea submission a few days ago? I want to know if you received it. I’m literally panicking whether or not my idea is good.

Hey Ken, relax, take a breath. I’m a little slower responding to emails on the weekend – I’ll take a look later today and get back to you. But yes, it came in. :)

Obviously you would win with this contest idea. But this is Firepole Marketing so I’d expect nothing less. Nice strategy for spreading an idea.

You’ve got me thinking, Danny, so I’ll have to submit something. There’s nothing like a competition to make people perform.

Haha, thanks, Rex! Great – I’m looking forward to reading your idea! :)

You are asking us to submit to you some new marketing ideas but actually you are applying here the best I’ve heard about in the last period!
YOU are asking us to publish our best content on YOUR BLOG, to spend our energy to drive traffic to it (again to your blog) and only one of us will get the glory (but you will get the traffic)!

This is not a criticism. I just want to say that we have to learn a lot from you. You are applying here a great marketing strategy! I’ve many doubt that I will be able to post an idea better than the one you are using in this contest :-)

Great Job!

Haha, thanks, Silvia, that was definitely the plan. :)

Although, to be fair, all of the contestants will get good exposure from the competition – I think the best arrangements are the ones where everybody wins. :)

So… are you going to submit an idea? ;)

Jason Fonceca December 14, 2011 at 10:05 am

I agree. I am HUGE on win-win arrangements, and in fact, engage only in things that feel ‘right’ and balanced to me.

That being said, it really is brilliant marketing, but that might be why you founded FirePoleMarketing.com — based on a clear strength :)

And I did submit an idea, and it is, game-changingly BALLIN’ :D

I don’t know what can I do but as far as I know mouth publicity is the biggest trick to attract peoples. While other methods in a slowing motion, mouth publicity ignites a nuclear fusion reaction in environment and we have seen it on various websites like Justin Bieber is created by his youtube videos that were made viral by countless youtube users.

It is important to keep looking for innovative marketing ideas. I think more so, I think that it is important to keep rewarding those people that are willing to do the brainstorming for you.
