You weren’t getting traffic to your site, so you decided to start guest posting.
Sounds good, but… you don’t know where to start.
I mean, internet is very big and you don’t know where to search the right blogs for your guest posts.
To make it harder, you are scared of asking to guest post on big blogs.
You know that guest posting can send you traffic, can make you an authority and can help you to grow your income.
You really wish to guest post, but the first step seems just too far from you.
It’s frustrating when you know the solution, but you don’t know how to apply it.
Let me show you how to solve this problem.
The First Step is The Hardest
Do you know that the first step is the hardest to take?
Scientific studies show that most people who start a task work hard to complete it.
When you invest energies to reach a target, you want to see the results for your work.
If you make the first step you will try to complete your task.
Now, you know where is the problem: it’s at the beginning.
The First Step to Become a Successful Guest Poster
Do you know what is the first step to guest post?
It’s not the contact with the blog owner…
Make a step back
The first step is to know where to post.
If you know only one blog, you will be too scared of asking the blog owner for a guest post.
You have only one chance, you feel like you can’t miss it.
To have a great list of blogs where to ask for guest posting is great.
You have many attempts.
Also you know which blog is the best fit for your idea.
Know the Big Blogs in Your Niche
To solve your problem and, finally, guest post like Freddy Krueger, you need to know many big blogs in your niche.
It take a long time to search them so I decided to make a list that contains many big blogs which allow guest posting.
83 of the Biggest Blogs
I put together 83 blogs in four different topics:
- Blogging / Internet Marketing / Social Media
- Self Improvement / Productivity
- Health / Fitness
- Finance
It’s not finished yet!
For each blog you’ll find:
- Its preferred topics
- Its Alexa Rank
- Its Page Rank (PR)
- The average number of comments (counted on the last 10 posts)
- The average number of shares (counted on the last 10 posts)
Thanks to this information you can choose your targets in the best way.
(I inserted the average number of comments and share to have an idea of the engagement of the audience; also, knowing the average number of shares will give you an idea about the reach of the blog)

Take Action
Now that you know where you can post, my last advice is about taking action.
If you are not taking action, this list will be useless.
On the contrary, if you take action, soon or later, you’ll get the desired results.
To speed up your results I advise you to take Danny’s training program Write Like Freddy.
It’s a step-by-step program that it’s extremely helpful.
Your Time
The blogosphere is a huge place.
This mean that, for sure, I forgot some big blogs.
Would you add any blog to this list?
I’m interested in your opinion.
What do you think about guest posting?
Have you tried it?
Feel free to share with us your experience
Mauro D’Andrea (@MauroDAnd) is the founder of Blog Growth the fresh blog that speaks about internet marketing in the complete way. Take his free guide Increase Your Conversions and start selling more.

Mauro, thanks so much for this article. Its so helpful and wonderfully written. I’m a therapist and I’ve already gotten posts accepted for The BridgeMaker, Change your life Change your Brain and Abundant Tapestry. I’m pressing on!
Thank you Rita! And I’m glad you like it.
Great! Guest posting is one of the most effective ways to skyrocket a blog/business. Keep going
Great Job Mauro! We need to see Blog Growth on that list next time!
Thanks James! Of course, just give me few months
Mauro,
Wow! What a gift you’ve given us.
I’ve enjoyed doing some guest blogging, and now with this list and Danny’s course, I’m eager to plunge full speed ahead.
I also just downloaded your conversion guide and A to Z ecourse. Looks like this could be the start of a profitable friendship.
Thank you for your generosity.
Hi Flora, I’m glad you like it.
Danny’s course is great, you can be sure that you’ll get lots of results.
Great! Let me know what you think about them
I’m sure it will be.
You are welcome!
Wow Mauro,
This is a great list. How long did it take you to compile it?
Hi Tania, I don’t know exactly, but I would say about 20-30 hours.
Something in my brain doesn’t work as it should
Hey Mauro,
Nice job on the list. I’m sure it will help lots of people. There’s some blogs in the PD niche I haven’t heard of.
Hi Jamie, I’m glad you like it.
I’m sure it will be helpful: I’m using it to choose the blogs on which I want to guest post and it makes my task a lot easier.
Hi Mauro,
This is one MONSTER guest post list! You really kicked butt, lol. This was right on time too. I”m beginning to delve into guest posting and you’ve truly provided me with a solid resource. Thanks a bunch!
Ti
Hi Ti!
Thank you, I’m glad you like it
I’m sure you’ll find it very helpful!
Mauro, I’m speechless! Thank you so much for sharing such a comprehensive list. All of your hours of hard work and research are truly appreciated!
–Kemya
Hi Kemya, you are welcome.
And I’m glad that you appreciated it!
Hi Mauro!
Great list and thanks for putting in the time to compile this; I’m sure you’ve helped a lot of people. Personally I would have liked to see more in the Freelance Writing niche, other than kikolani.com, WeBlogBetter and YoungPrePro for whom I write already
You might want to check, unless Ana Hoffman changed her policy; I’m not convinced she accepts guest posts as a rule. The occasional ones are close friends and only if they really spoke the topic like Ana couldn’t herself, which is rare
Speaking of which, off me go to get some writing done!
Hi Ruan, you are welcome!
I’m sorry for that…anyway most of the blogs in the first part of the list (about blogging) will accept freelance writing posts. You just need to cover it from the right angle
Here you can find Ana’s guest posting’s rule: http://www.trafficgenerationcafe.com/about/contact/
I think she accept guest posts if they are quality ones.
Anyway, Ruan, even if a blogger doesn’t say explicitly that he accept guest post, you can try.
The important thing is do it in an great way: no one will refuse a pillar post.
(If you want to improve your guest posting skills, I highly suggest you Danny’s Write Like Freddy program: it’s awesome. And I’m not saying it because I’m here: it brought my guest posting skills to next level…and many other people are rockying with it)
What an awesome value you’ve given us here, Mauro!
I’ve always heard that guest blogging is the key to growing an audience, but I’ve never bothered to do any research to find good blogs that would be the most effective for my obscure topic (curiosity). I was planning to do it later, but there are some excellent blogs here on Self Improvement that will work great. Thanks so much for all the work you put into this.
If I follow through, and actually get a guest post on even just one of these big blogs, it could significantly change my life.
Which means that this post you’ve given us here could be the most monumental post ever (at least for me anyway, and probably anyone else who gets huge exposure from some guest posts.)
Thank you for providing a profound impact. This is epic.
Hi Rex, I’m glad you find it useful.
I’ll be honest: one single guest post can’t change the life of a person.
But you can change your life with some work
After you publish your first guest post, you go for the second one and so on.
Doesn’t this sound a better approach, Rex?
You are welcome!
This is an amazing list!! I’d love to learn how to find / research a list like this for some different blog categories, too. Any tips to go about finding great blogs in different niches?
Hi Tina, yes there are many ways to do it:
1) You can search on Google: best X blogs.
X is the blog categories you want to target.
You’ll find lists from other people, so you just check which blog in those lists accept guest posts.
2) You can search on Google: guest posting list.
You’ll find many lists of blogs that accept guest posts.
Unluckily you’ll not find many useful sources so you have to chack what is good and what isn’t.
3) You search on Google: X “guest post”.
X is the topic you want to target and you can replace “guest post” with: “submint article”, “guest writer”, “submit a post” or everything else that can come in your mind.
There are also some guest blogging networks, but, for what I know, they won’t make you reach the bigger bloggers.
If something isn’t clear, just ask
When did guest posting stop being an honor and start being a slimy marketing technique? Guest posting is “supposed” to be a blogger requesting somebody they respect in the industry to write for them, this is not supposed to be a link-exchange type act. It’s disheartening and takes value away from what guest posting really is about.
Hi Jack, I agree with you: guest posting is an honor.
I’ll never make a guest post for a blogger if I don’t admire it. And no one should: it’s just stupid to write for someone if you don’t like him.
But there is no rule against growing your blog with guest posts.
Guest posting gives to not-famous people who have great stuff the chance to succeed.
Do you like Danny’s stuff, the posts of Jon Morrow or the ones from Gregory Ciotti?
Probably you couldn’t read their awesome content without guest posting.
You’ll never succeed at guest posting with bad content, so it’s different from link-exchange.
If you want to talk further about this, I’m here
Thanks for the reply Mauro.
I am glad that you agree with me and, from a marketing standpoint only, I agree with you as well. You are also correct that I probably wouldn’t be exposed to certain posts were it not for guest posting.
I do disagree, to a point, about guest posting being different from link-exchange. The reason I say this is because it’s all about who is using the tool “guest posting” and how. Smart marketers know how to pull off guest posting but I’ve seen some real doozies out there. What comes to mind is an excellent blog that used a guest post that was so horribly written that I had to turn away. Why do some people do this? Link-exchange. Sad but true but it’s also the mark of a very poor blogger AND marketer.
My original comment was a complaint as to why it had to come to this. I am a complainer by nature and one of my biggest complaints concerning bloggers is that they utilize wonderful ways to interact with others as tools to sell themselves out.
I have to give you kudos, though. My main enjoyment from reading and reviewing blogs is the interaction that (sometimes) comes with it. I didn’t expect a response to my comment because, though it wasn’t intended to be, some people would have taken it negatively. I appreciate you taking the time to spend a moment with me and it shows how professional you are.
Jack, I agree with you about that: there are people that are using guest posting in a wrong manner.
But this is true for everything, from rocket science to medicine. Our task is to use our tools to improve the world and to teach others how to do the same.
Yes, it’s true: blogs are wonderful “tools” to interact with great people.
Thank you for these kind words, Jack.
Great post, Mauro! Sharing with my list next week, and the Facebookers today.
Thank you Annie, I’m honored
Fantastic work Mauro. Super helpful list of blogs; thank you for spending so many hours researching and compiling the list.
I’ve only recently started my blog and keep reading and hearing I need to be guest blogging but it sure feels a really intimidating prospect. I guess I’m going to have to bite the bullet though if I want to encourage visitors to my site.
This is a great resource to make a start – I’ve no excuses now!
Hi Anne, I’m glad you find it helpful.
Yes, guest blogging is one of the best ways to grow your blog (Danny knows this).
It’s not the only one, but it’s one of the easiest to put in practice and bring immediate results.
If you think well about guest posting, it’s not so intimidating. It’s just that you have to start it…like when you go the first time with your bike. You’ll not get it right first time, but with a certain time you’ll learn.
Of course, you have no excuses
Feel free to ask if you need some help!
Great job compiling this list – and sharing it. You’re the hero of the week!
Thank you Dan! “Hero of week” is a nice title, I’ll try to preserve it
Nice work Mauro, you’ve made the lives of many bloggers or intending guest posters a lot easier.
One thing’s for sure: this post is going to be popular.
Why?
Because it solves the problem many online business owners have, which is “Where the hell do I guest-post for lots of traffic?”
Thank you for these kind words, Sam!
Exactly, every time you solve a problem, you are making happy someone
Thanks Mauro,
Great resource list.
Here’s to Blog Growth hitting the top blogs list too!
Walt
I’m glad you liked it, Walt.
I’ll do my best to bring it to the stars
You are a hit! Those who tell you how-to are everywhere; those who do it
for you and give it to you are remembered.
I appreciate this and plan on signing up for Blog Growth.
You rock. Thanks.
Thank you Myrna, I’m honored!
You are welcome.
And feel free to contact me for whatever you may need
AWESOME post, Mauro! THANKS!
But I wonder if there is a blog category on your list that would fit in my field. (Lifestyle? Self-improvement? Education? Or just general blogging sites?) I’m a musician/music teacher and I like to write articles/consumer guides on music to educate the public re: myths, misconceptions, finding the right instructor, etc. Our niche is contemporary music for older learners (teens and adults). My fellow musician/music teacher friends and I have also been blogging in our subject area.
I do have another Reader’s Digest/Consumer Reports-esque blog (lifestyle, personal finance, health/nutrition, etc.) with a humorous twist, so your list is definitely helpful for that since I’d like this one to be a source of passive income. Thanks bunches again!
Hi Nancee, you are welcome!
Of course, you can make guest posts on Personal Improvement blogs outlining the benefits of the music for people; or you can write a list of relaxing songs that will help people to decrease stress.
You can write guest posts on Finance blogs explaining how is it possible to earn with music.
You can write on Blogging blogs if you know some interesting ways of promoting content that you applied with your music blog.
I guess you are in a good situation because everyone likes and listens music, so you can write for almost any niche and find many people that will like you.
Also you can write guest posts on Music blogs.
Type on Google: Music “guest post”.
You have to search a little, but you’ll find many interesting options.
And you can search: best music blogs (or music blogs list).
You have a lots of chances to explore!
THANKS AGAIN! I’ll be sharing your stuff on my blog too for people to see.
Thank you Nancee, this is very kind
Congrats Mauro on an excellent post that has taken quite some research! Appreciate that you have covered some of the lesser discussed niches.
Thank you for these kind words, Zivana.
I’m glad that you liked it.
This is advice awesome post. You have provided really helpful info. Categorized advance v ordered well. This is very helpful for those going through WLF ( WWrite Like Freddy)
You are welcome Al
Nicely done! What a gift you have put together for us all. I love seeing the variety of blogs, especially outside the marketing/strictly business category.
Thank you Kim! I did my best and I’m happy that you appreciate it.
Thanks for the list, I appreciate the time it must have taken to put this together.
You are welcome Hashtag!
Hi Mauro,
Thank you for taking the time to research and compile such a useful and comprehensive article and then thank you again for sharing it with us all.
My first guest post was on Firepole marketing too. Like you said, it can be nerve wracking plucking up the courage to approach someone, but as one of Danny’s students and thanks to his encouragement, my first post about procrastination in asking to write a guest post was published.
If anyone’s at all nervous about asking whether they can submit a post to another site, maybe they should start with Firepole Marketing. Once your first guest post is published, your confidence is boosted enough to approach other sites easily.
With this list, there’s no more excuses. We’ll all be unstoppable now!
You are welcome Carolyn!
It’s right, the first guest post helps you to build confidence.
Anyway I think that your post was accepted because you improved a lot your skills and not because you approached Firepole Marketing: your post would have been accepted elsewhere too.
Of course, we’re unstoppable
Nice list! ; )
Has anyone seen a similar list for Business / Start-up / Biz coaching & consulting ? I went to AllTop.com but I couldn’t find more than a couple of interesting websites that accept guest posts.
I’m a bit stuck right now! Do you have any suggestions as to how to find blogs in that topic from which I can draw micro-networks (a sub-group of blogs among them that share commentors) ?
Cheers,
Matt
Thank you Matt!
I don’t know if there are lists about Business…anyway you can approach the Finance blog in this list if you use the right angle.
And you can try to search this on Google: Business “guest post”.
You should find some good blogs.
The only idea that I have right now about that is to search: “Full Name” comment.
If that person didn’t wrote many guest posts and doesn’t have homonyms you should find him with a little search.
Thanks a lot Mauro! I found myself paying special attention to the average number of comments. That’s a great metric to include!
You are welcome Jarom! I included it because it is a great index of the audience engagement.
It’s not true in any niche (for example in finance niche, it’s lower than in others), but it’s something to look at.
Okay, Mauro. This list is insane! Tweeted, pinned, saved and being used starting today.
Thank you Tom! I appreciate it a lot
What a great idea. Thank you for this. I will keep this list for when the time comes.
You are welcome, Priska. Make good use of it
This. Is. Awesome.
I spent so much time compiling a list like this for myself but yours is much more comprehensive. Thanks Mauro, this is a HUGE help!
Thank you Hugh, I’m glad you like it
You are welcome!
What a great list! Thanks for including 12 Most, much appreciated.
Peggy, it’s my pleasure
Wow, that is an extensive list. But what is the criteria that you had in mind when listing the blogs, is it just that you will get more exposure if you choose these blogs or working on your networking or pagerank or traffic.
Hi Eddie, when I made this list I inserted the biggest (and most reliable) blogs that I knew.
Most of these blogs have traffic, high pagerank and good networks.
Anyway, you will choose which are your primary “targets” depending on your goals. Certain blogs will be more important for traffic others for high quality links and so on.
The right question to understand where to guest post is: what is your goal with guest posting?
For those in the travel niche, Lonely Planet (http://www.lonelyplanet.com) is a big name accepting guest posts. *SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION ALERT* We are also accepting guest posts on http://theadventourist.com/
Thank you for the contribution!
Whoa! That’s REALLY a BIG list.
I know many of the blogs which you stated above in IM niche. I’ve already landed on few blogs with my guest posts, I’ll try my best to land on remaining blogs too.
Thanks for the great share bud
You are welcome Rahul!
I wish you to succeed with your goal
This is a great list of places to look for guest post. Thank you for this great list. This is the best list so far.
You are welcome Shalu.
Am I glad I came across this. Exactly what I’ve been looking for! Great job Mauro. Well thought out with very useful stats.
I’m curious – what are your thoughts on having a google plus one button? It seems many of the blog sites listed above do not have one, and those that do, have “+1″ numbers that are far less than their respective “likes” and “tweets”.
Although I suppose it can’t hurt to have one.
I’m glad you find it useful, Anil.
I depends on your goal, like everything.
If you want to show social proof and you don’t have a following on Google Plus, don’t insert it. You don’t want to show zeros in your counter.
If you want to get some additional shares (and better SEO ranking), insert it. You don’t care about the zeros, because you are interested in promoting your post.
What do you think about?
I agree Mauro. In my case (an early stage web based start-up), any additional shares and an improvement in SEO is most welcome. So, even though my counter may show a very small amount (or even zero for some time), it’s not the social proof I’m interested in at the moment but more so simply raising awareness.
Great, Anil! So you have the solution
Really Awesome list. But I have Movie blog. And I want to Submit Guest post on Entertainment and movies blog. Could you shy me some entertainment Related Blog. people those apply guest posting.
Hi Rahul, among the blog about blogging you can see “12 Most”.
That blog accepts also posts about entertainment.
Also, if you can think about benefits or lessons of movies, you can try to guest post on blogs about personal improvement.
For example I used some movies like “Yes Man” to outline life lessons for people. You can do the same.
Maybe you can writing some like “X Life Lessons from Yes Man”.
To find entertainment blogs that accept guest posts you can write on Google: Entertainment “guest post”.
You will find many blogs.
Some of them don’t say that they accetp guest posts, but if they did it one time, they are likely to accept your one too.
In the end, to increase your blog traffic I want to suggest you to use YouTube (if you are not using it yet).
For your niche, it’s the best traffic driver, even better than guest posting
If you want to discuss this further, just send me an email (you can find it on my blog).
Thanks for reply. I am agree your suggestion. Youtube is best source. But How can i create unique trailer and clip. Sir if have any suggestion please give me reply.
I don’t know YouTube’s policy, but I’m sure that are lots of things that you can do without breaing their rules. You should give a look at that.
Anyway, you don’t need to make trailer.
You can also make review.
On your site you write review…what if you make videos about them too?
You don’t need the clip of the video, you can speak in front of a camera explaining your opinion.
That is not the only thing that you can do.
I guess that with a brainstorm, lots of ideas will come to your mind.
Try, see what is effective and do it.
Amazing Collection…!!
Thanks for Sharing !!
You are welcome!
So much stuff here, looks like I’ll be online all day!! Thanks.
You are welcome!
Dude! Seriously Mauro I am blown away.
You have made me a huge fan in one post. The amount of time, effort and etail you put into this is incredible. If this post is evidence of the level of discipline you put into making things happen the sky is the limit.
Thank you Izmael! This is one of the best compliment I’ve ever received
Well, I try to do my best.
Awesome list! And thanks for including me. Its seem that you updated the list right before the PR update.
You are welcome Marissa!
I’m sorry for that.
Well, even with the previous PR3 it was a great blog in which many of us would like to appear
Of course, now that Thirtysixmonths has a PR4, it’s even more appealing.
Oh my goodness-what a great and effective list to have. This is definitely going to be saved. Thanks for saving me the leg work!
I’m glad you like it, Robert.
You are welcome
Thanks for sharing this information . Now I have long list of high ranking blogs of various niches to guest post and receive more traffic and build more backlinks to my site.
Danny (& crack team) you darlings!
Just did my first guest blog, and it is exhilarating! I do feel better about my blogging skills, and even though it didn’t bring a lot of traffic to my site yet, I have engaged with a lot of interesting people and got paid!
Also – I am no financial blogger, but this list is also useful as a great source of decent blogs to use and follow, so thanks for that.
Many thanks Mauro.
Do you believe in synchronicity? I was just having this conversation with my husband this morning. He had suggested that I guest post and I got a headache just thinking of all the research I needed to do in order to take on this task.
So here I am and you have given me the greatest gift of all by taking the time to gather a list and stats of each niche. How can I ever thank you? This is a must bookmark. I am so glad I came upon your blog.
Will be back soon,
Donna Merrill
Thanks Mauro, for sharing such an amazingly useful list of blogs and their stats. I’ve compiled a similar list in my niche (work from home, home business, mumpreneur) niche and hadn’t thought of sharing it with my list but think it would be useful for others too.
I’m working my guest post list quite hard now and also measuring the engagement of the various blogs I follow so that brings another dimension when evaluating the best blogs to guest post on.
Great article, thanks!
Hello Mauro,
You’ve done Great job by compiling this list and sharing it. Amazing!
Thanks so much for including my blog in this list.
Gonna share your post with my followers!
This is such a great huge list that you have here, i found this at such a time that am thinking of stepping up my guest blogging game.
I hope to guest post on some of these blogs soon.
thanks for this list.
yea, i thought it was only that found the huge list here, blogging is all about backlinks that for this post now that the google update is coming soon
Very good article, with some good resources. However, ProBlogger no longer accepts guest posts starting with 2013.
This post is exactly what I’ve been looking for. What a great resource. Of course I found it after I submitted my post for your consideration for Guest Posting on Firepole Maketing .. so I probably won’t need it.
Seriously this is sweet.
This is a great post but it makes me smile.
It’s fine to publish guest post resources, but all these sites can’t cover all the industries.
You probably know that best links are links from relevant sites. If my site is in some special industry, these resources will not help me so much… but you can use google in order to find relevant guest blog sites. All you have to do is to set 100 search results per page and then search for:
your keyword “inurl:guest-post”
I found your blog using this method:
https://www.google.com/#hl=sr&tbo=d&sclient=psy-ab&q=marketing+“inurl:guest-post”&oq=inbound+marketing+”inurl:guest-post”
You can also use FF and SEOQuake addon. Then you can export results into CSV, and order them by domain authority rankings.
This is a fabulous resource. Thanks a million! Do you happen to know of a similar resource for the tech industry? I have a client that produces fascinating work about the future. I would love to get him some guest posts on tech blogs.
